ACCYSTAN Asks: Bradford City

Who are your key players?

David Wetherall and Dean Windass are extremely influential and in my opinion make the team tick.

One of the most experienced defenders in Coca-Cola Football League One, Wetherall is dependable, solid and calm under pressure. Windass, on the other hand, is unpredictable like the weather. You just don't know what to expect but I regard him as an asset because he plays with passion and has a real eye for goal.

What is your weak link?

I think the size of our squad is a weakness. As City are in administration, boss Colin Todd only has 18 first team professionals at his disposal, assuming they are all fit of course.

What are your league expectations this season?

Given all the problems we have had off the field during the last few months, survival is our main objective. City have struggled for consistency so far this season, so it's difficult to say how things will pan out for us. Our squad may be small but it's packed with experience. For that reason, I expect us to fight for a play-off spot.

What are your LDV Vans Trophy expectations?

City have an appalling run in knock-out competitions over the last three years. Therefore, I do have my reservations about how far we will go. Reaching the final would help us financially and boost confidence but, if I'm honest with myself, I don't think we'll make it.

Who do you think are the main teams in the running for the Trophy?

That largely depends on who will take it seriously. Luton are bound to be one of the favourites but I am tipping Tranmere to lift the trophy as they always seem to do well in cup competitions.

What do you think of Accrington Stanley?

Accrington have had a good start to the season despite losing their unbeaten home record against Gravesend last weekend and could pose a few problems for us. I think they are in a position to challenge for promotion. I would not be surprised to see them return to the Football League after forty odd years.

What will the score be?

I think we'll sneak it. My prediction is a 2-1 win for City.

Best of luck to Stanley over the coming season.

And good luck to Bradford City, too!
