With exception a few players the team is more or less new for this season. It would be difficult at this early stage to say who is the main danger. We have some very experienced players Stoker, Meechan, Gaunt, Miller just to name a few. Mitchell is a young striker with a great future and perhaps one to look out for.
WHO/WHAT WOULD YOU SAY WAS THE WEAK SPOT?
I can honestly say that is a very difficult question to answer. Perhaps a loss of concentration is our main fault at the moment.
HOW DO YOU RATE YOUR MANAGER?
Our manager Phil Starbuck is very well respected in the football world and no more so than at Leigh. Phil's done a great job with the team he's put together. We probably have the smallest wage bill in the league but Phil still manages to put together a good football side.How many managers would like to work in this league with Phil's budget. Not many I suspect.
WHAT ARE YOUR EXPECTATIONS FOR THE SEASON?
At Leigh we are realistic. We will not win the league, nor will we be bottom.
I think if we could end up half way or above that would be a great success for us. There are so many full time team now that it will be a hard year for all. We are still a part time team, one of just a few left in the league.
WHO DO YOU THINK WILL GET RELEGATED/PROMOTED?
Carlisle United are the front runners I think. They have the gates that would allow them to buy if it is not going there. Hereford will probably there at the end along with Aldershot. I dont think it will be Accrington this year but you may get into the five or six. You are one for the future. At the other end Northwich Farnborough and Forest Green are in for a very tough year,
