ACCYSTAN Asks: Morecambe

Last updated : 08 September 2004 By Kev Robinson
Who would you regard as your key players?
Glen: Tonight I suspect Michael Twiss might be our key player.

Neil: Chris Blackburn, Michael Twiss

Who do you regard as your weakest link?
Glen: Do you ever get an answer to that?

Neil: No single player, just the back 4 as a unit.

How do you think YOU have faired in the transfer market?
Glen:If they don't turn out to be injury prone we have signed three or four excellent players for this level.

Neil:Done well to get a number of long-term targets on a free, such as Sean O' Connor. Still short of defenders though.

How do your rate your manager?
Glen: His results on a limited budget speak for themselves, his big test will be to see how he performs this season, the purse strings having been slackened a little close-season.

Neil: Highly, since he's the one that got us here in the first place. Seems to make some odd substitutions though.

What are your expectations for the coming season?
Glen: An exciting campaign with more adventure away from home and at least a play-off place.

Neil: Play-off position sounds about right.

What do you think of Accrington Stanley?
Glen: A bit agricultural on occasions last season but with a shrewd manager whom we know well and, with some good signings close-season, will be hard to beat this season. Don't expect full-time training to pay immediate dividends, though.

Neil: Looking stronger than last season. Lee McEvilly and especially Ian Craney are excellent signings. You've still got Predergast though.

Who will get promoted/relegated from the Conference this season?
Glen: The title will be between Carlisle (though they will need to strengthen as the season progresses - which I think they will), Barnet and possibly us. Relegation may be between the perennial strugglers, Leigh and Northwich, with Burton and possibly Tamworth in there.

Neil:
Carlisle and one from us, Barnet, Hereford and maybe Exeter and yourselves. Gravesend amy be the surprise package.

Finally, what will the score be tonight?
Glen: Morecambe to win 2-1.

Neil: 2-1 Morecambe. Hopefully.

THANKS NEIL AND GLEN AND GOOD LUCK FOR TONIGHT (BUT NOT TOO MUCH)
