McEVILLY: 4 goals
There was surprise when, on Monday, Accrington Stanley announced that there would be a friendly match against Alsager. Some said that it could have been to see how Polish trialist Pawel Woznaik interacted with the current Stanley players in a match situation.

Despite not being given a real test and no real chance to prove himself fully Alsager were torn apart by a great performance by Woznaik in front of the attendence of 80.

Lee McEvilly neeted four of the goals with Steve Halfrod scoring the other. Chris Butler and Ian Craney also came close and manager John Coleman introduced himself and his assistant Jimmy Bell to the game late on.
