AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Last updated : 19 September 2004 By Kev Robinson
Three goals in ten minutes for Barnet did the damage before the break as Hatch struck twice and Graziola hit one for Barnet and Dean Sinclair made it 4-0 ten minutes before the end of the match and Manny Omoyinmi netted one for Gravesend but at the full time whistle Barnet came out 4-1 winners.

Another high-scoring game saw Aldershot move up into second after beating Dagenham 4-0 at home. Tim Sills put the home side ahead 12 minutes in and Jon Challinor, Aaron McLean and Nick Crittenden made it four in a match when both teams missed a penalty.

Despite beating Leigh RMI 2-1 at home Accrington Stanley moved down into third. Lee McEvilly scored twice for the Reds and Leigh's Gareth Stoker hit the woodwork from long range before Michael Byrne lashed home a consolation goal nearly three minutes into stoppage time.

Canvey Island went down by a goal to nil against Halifax with Darren Mansaram netting the only goal but Canvey Island Neil Gregory could have easily netted twice but missed both chances near the end.

David Brown struck as Hereford beat Scarborough 1-0 at home. Brown connected powerfully with Simon Travis' cross to beat Leigh Walker for his fourth goal of the season. Mark Hotte was sent off for Scarborough for two bookable offences.

Carlisle beat Tamworth 2-1. Karl Hawley latched onto a Magno Viera pass to score Carlisle's first and Simon Grand eventually got a second with a deft header, before Bob Taylor's long-range shot reduced the arrears late on.

Crawley Town went down to a 1-0 defeat at Burtin Albion Andy Ducros scoring the only goal on 30 minutes.

Santos Gaia and Steve Flack scored the goals in Exeter's 2-0 victory over Stevenage.

The Woking players got caught up in traffic so the kick-off to their away match against Morcambe was delayed by 50 minutes but Michael Twiss and Danny Carlton scored to Morcambe to cancel out Scott Canham's equaliser. Final score Morcambe 2-1 Woking.

Forest Green and Farnborough Town fought out a 1-1 draw but Charlie Griffin will be the Forest Green hero as he earned the home side their first point of the season after Lloyd Blackman gave Town the lead early on.

York City are still having trouble getting form in the Conference and a 0-0 draw against strugglers Northwich Victoria proved that.
