A first minute Chester goal set them off to a 3-2 win over Farnborough Town and with Hereford only earning a point on tuesday with a 3-3 draw with Scarborough and losing 2-1 to Burton Albion, Chester extended their lead at the top to 8 points. Had Hereford won both these ties they would be 2 points off the top.
Aldershot equalised with 10 minutes remaining to cancel out Barnet's 27th minute opener to draw 1-1 on Friday night while on Saturday Accrington Stanley threw away and injury time lead to lose 3-2 against Dag & Red. Exeter conceded seconds into the second half to lose by 1 goal to none against Gravesend.
Scarborough, who drew 3-3 against 2nd placed Hereford as you may remember, fell to a shock 4-0 defeat aginst 17th placed Forest Green. Morcambe beat Northwich 3-0 with all the goals coming in the first period and a 57th minute goal helped Telford to an away win over Stevenage. Tamworth strook 4 minutes from time to come out on top in a 7 goal hit and grap thriller. The final score was 4-3 to Tamworth.
Aldershot v Barnet, Margate v Halifax and Shrewsbury v Woking were all called off.
