COLEMAN & BELL: More games to prepare for
Conference chiefs have voted to increase the number of teams in the Conference National to 24 from 22.

At the end of the 2005/2006 season the number of teams relegated from the Conference National will decrease from three to two and the number of teams wining promotion to the National league will increase to four.

Then from the season 2006/2007 onwards there will be 24 teams in the Conference and it is believed that four teams will be relegated with four going down.

The feeling from Conference officials is that increasing the size of the Conference National will improve the chances of having three teams promoted to the Football League.
