Following Saturdays 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Scarborough, the current management team, John Coleman, Jimmy Bell and Paul Cook, have been working on defensive duties in training but player/coach Paul Cook, who featured in the final few minutes of that demoralising away defeat, explained that the mental side of things is just as, if not more, important as Stanley look to get back on form against Leigh RMI in the FA Cup.
"We are conceding too many goals in some matches" he admitted "and that is something that we will be concentrating on very strongly this week ahead of our next match. It is frustrating that we can be solid for 90 minutes down at Aldershot one week and then leak four goals just seven days later at Scarborough.”
Cook also said that the players would be forced to sit through the match again and look at how they performed in an attempt to make the ‘goals against' column a little easier to look at.
“We will be sitting down with the players this afternoon to watch the video of Saturday's match, and identifying the areas we need to sort out."
