"If you can give a penalty against Stanley, you do!"

Coleman's rage has been drawn out once again by a match official, this time following his side's 1-0 defeat to League leaders Hartlepool, in which referee Scott Mathieson awarded two dubious penalties.

"It just seems at the moment that if you can give a penalty against Accrington Stanley, you do," said Coleman talking to the Lancashire Telegraph.

"That seems to be par for the course at the moment."

Hartlepool put the second of their two dodgy penalties past David Martin, but it shouldn't have been a penalty, just like the first. Godwin Antwi, on-loan from Liverpool, clearly got the ball, but Mathieson pointed to the penalty spot. Richie Barker slotted home the second penalty to give Hartlepool the unfair win.

Barker had already missed a spot kick in the first half, yet again a dodgy decision, as Jay Harris' challenge was outside of the area.

'The game hinged on the penalty decision,' said Coleman.

'This season I have had two referees who have phoned me during the week and told me I was unfortunate to have penalties given by them the previous weekend. I am sure I will have a third one this week.

'I think they were very dubious and to have two awarded against you in one match is very harsh.

'We have had 14 penalties given against us this season and I would say about seven have been justified.'
