Acrrington Stanley boss John Coleman believes hitman Paul Mullin can clock up 500 games for his side. Mullin made his 361st appearance on Monday in the 1-0 defeat at Hartlepool United, equaling the record that was set by Chris Grimshaw.

The 33 year-old forward, joined Stanley from Radcliffe Borough back in 2000.

John Coleman believe's his star man can keep going and keep producing for Stanley for many years to come. Bare in mind he is 33 now John
.

"I can't praise Paul highly enough," said Coleman talking to the Lancashire Telegraph.

"He's a model professional - a shining light to any young lad on how to conduct yourself as a footballer.

"He's got fitter by the year and quicker, which is amazing for his age. His work-rate is phenomenal and he takes everything on board.

"I'm sure he's got a lot of games left in him. This shouldn't be the end of him. I certainly expect him to make 500 games for Accrington.

"But it's a great achievement and it will be nice if the supporters can recognise that tomorrow."

"It makes me laugh that everyone says that he's reached his level. But every time we've stepped up, he's done even better and that's including this year.

"Lots of clubs would have him tomorrow.

"Probably the best bit of praise you can give Paul is that every player he's played with at Accrington, nobody has ever had a bad word to say about him.

"I think that shows the type of man he is and the type of footballer he is."

"Plus he's always prepared to put himself in the firing line. He never stops and that sort of player is a manager's dream."
