After a disappointing performance on Saturday against Leigh RMI, Rory Prendergast was dropped to the bemch and replaced by Paul Cook and his experience was helpful as Stanley looked to take all the point off Northwich Victoria.
But it wasn't to be and after a good run of clean sheets on the goals and cards front we had to throw it all away in a most disappointing fashion.
The scoring was opened when Ian Craney, who has proved a superb signing by John Coleman powered home a fierce shot, beating home 'keeper Ralph with just 20 minutes gone in the first half.
Mark Devlin equalised for the home site but it was the Reds grabbed a second ofter 49 minutes and it was Craney again who had hit the net and Stanley had a 2-1 lead.
Lee McEvilly, who had scored two goals in the previous match, against Leigh RMI, spun a third in a Stanley looked to have the three points signed sealed and delievered after 54 minutes.
But at this point it all went wrong, with the clean sheet record already out of the window following Delvin's strike for the Vics, Stanley then lost their good dicipline record when ged Brannan was booked and Robbie Williams was sent off.
The williams incident led to the Vics equaliser as he gave away a second penalty which Mark Quayle slotted home, just as he had done ten minutes earlier when Peter Cavanagh was penalised for a foul on John Allen.
The final score of 3-3 flattered Northwich as Stanley full deserved the three points but had to settle for one. Had they won they would have equalled points with league leaders Barnet but the draw left them two points behind in second place in the table.
