John Coleman's Accrington Stanley have certainly had to depend on the stopper, who joined at the beginning of the season just weeks after being released, after some poor defending in recent games and so this injury will prove a massive blow as Stanley prepare to get their league form back on track in the Sky game at home to Hereford United.
Former Barnsley goalkeeper Danny Alcock, another summer signing, looks almost certain to make his competative debut for Stanley after he was snapped by by John Coleman after several impressive games whilst on trial at the club during pre-season.
Kennedy said that he was "absolutely gutted" at the injury. "I fell awkwardly during training and had hoped at first that it was just ligament damage, however the x-ray showed a break and now I just have to hope that it will heel quickly and I can get back into training as soon as possible."
The injury is expected to take three months to heal with another month and a half expected for Jon to get himself back to match fitness.
