Reds Take Former United Youngster On Loan

The striker, who was a target for John Coleman at the start of last season, has joined on a three-month loan deal with a view to a pernament move.

Banim started his career at Manchester United where he scored regulary for the Youth teams at Old Trafford. A long-term injury saw him released from the Premiership giants and he joined a sucession of clubs from the Manchester area including Hyde United, Flixton, Altrincham and Trafford before moving to Unibond First Division side Radcliffe Borourgh where he was the league top scorer for two seasons running before being snapped up by Shrewsbury in December 2003 for £20,000.

He has been given the number 7 shirt at Shrewsbury this season but the Shrews boss allowed him out on loan.
