RORY: Attracting interest
Accrington Stanley claimed earlier this week that they had rejected a five figure bid from Bristol Rovers for star winger Rory Prendergast.

Rory has been a revelation since returning from injury and it will come as no surprise to fans of the club that have seen PRendergast's dazling performances this season that he is attracting attention from the Football League.

Bristol, who play in the Coca-Cola Football League Two, have denied that a formal bid has been made. Manager Ian Atkins claims that he has enquired about taking Rory to the club but that he is not in a position to make a formal bid at this time.

"I always keep an eye on a lot of players and ask about them because of the contacts I have within the game.

"But if you enquire about a player, it doesn't always mean you want to buy them," he told Bristol Rovers' official website.

So at the moment Prendergast remains an Accrington Stanley player but for how long.. Many fans are claiming that the clubs' promotion hopes would take a bitter blow if he was to leave.
