Stanley 1-3 WOLVES

A mixed squad travelled from Wolverhampton to the Interlink Express stadium in the latest of Stanley's pre-season friendly matches.

It took just 12 minutes for Wolves to hit the back of the net with a wonderful Joleon Lescott header from a corner.

Just under seven minutes later the Stanley back line was breched again as Gary Mulligan did superbly to beat off a defender before slotting into the bottom corner of Danny Allcock's goal.

The teams went in at half time with the Championship side leading 2-0 and minutes into the second period Leon Clarke all but sealed a win for Wolves, who were one of the three teams relegated from the Premiership.

Ex Wolves favorite Paul Cook scored a screamer from way outside the area, by the managers actually, it was just a consolation but got the home fans up on their feet with exitment.
The Reds had a few srong appeals for penalties but the very poor referee turned them down.
