Stanley boss hopes youngsters shine

The average age of his Reds squad is just 23 and with many of the side having not been involved in a promotion challenge before, Coleman knows they will have to prove their mental strength over the coming months.

He told the Lancashire Telegraph: "This is a chance for the players to kick on and pick up the required points to get past the magical 50 mark and then to push for the play-offs.

"I've always said that the most important aspect of any football club is the players and at this moment in time we've got a set of young lads who want to work hard and are enthusiastic about the game.

"But it will be interesting to see how they cope mentally with the stresses of the second part of the season because a lot of these players won't have played a lot of games on the bounce with pressure on every game."
