After weeks of desperate negotiations Accrington Stanley have finally agreed an ecceptable fee for Ian Craney with his current club, Altrincham. Ian has revealed that it is his dream to play professional football and Stanley is the place that will give him that. The fee has not yet been revealed by ACcrington but chairman Eric Whalley has said that is is not aiming to spend much money.
Sheffield United midfielder, Jagielka, is also ready to join up with the Stanley squad. Don't get your hopes up though, it's Steve Jagielka, not Phil Jagielka who has been tipped to join the Premiership with clubs like Bolton and Spurs watching him. Steve is said to be a very good player, though and played against Stanley for Shrewsbury in one of the 150 appearences he made for the club. Before that he was a trainee at Stoke City and moved to United in November but failed to make an impact. Stanley are awaiting his official release before he 'dots his ts and crosses his is'
Also, Stanley have signed 22 year old Matt Doughty from Rochdale. Thje 22 year old made 70 appearences for Chester and 150 for Rochdale. He has been released from Rochdale and will link-up with former 'Dale teammate, Lee McEvilly, who was also signed on a free transfer a few weeks since.
ACCYSTAN.co.uk wishes these three all the best at the club and hope they help us regain our professional status!
