Stanley head groundsman Martyn Cook told the Lancashire Telegraph: "We have had a lot of rainfall in the last few days and weeks, and it is having an effect on one or two areas of the pitch.
"We have had a couple of specialist companies in this week with a view to carrying out some work on the key problem areas and, although this might cost a bit of money, it will ensure that we aren't battling to get games on every time we get heavy or sustained rainfall."
