The daggers came out and Stanley are hurt

Stanley where hoping to carry over their goal scoring record from the Leigh RMI game last week and the Alsager FC friendly in mid-week which both ended with scores of 6-0 and 5-1 respectively to the good for Stanley. And with Stanley just entering the busy Christmas period they were looking to pick up all three points to have the chance of going 3rd in the table if other results went in Stanley's favour as well.

Stanley started the game as they did against Leigh with a heavy spell of pressure in the first half. But unlike at Leigh, Stanley had forgotten their scoring boots and missed chance after chance. With the most prominent being Paul Mullin's chance to score.

After a miss-hit back pass from Dagenham's Lee Flynn looked to put Prendergast in with a golden chance to cross the ball in front of Paul Mullin but the wingers cross was blocked by Lee Goodwin. With Stanley's leading goal scorer waiting in the middle hoping to capitalise on Flynn's earlier mistake. This summed up Stanley first half performance.

In the second forty five Dagenham came out like a different team and went 1-0 up within minutes of the re-start, they won a corner which was swung into the box and Goodwin rose highest to meet the ball and head it into the back of the net.

Then on 57 minutes Moore scored after a rebounded shot from Janney that Crichton spilled straight into the path of oncoming Moore who didn't need to think about smashing into the bottom corner.

Finally Matt Harrold killed all hope of a Stanley come back within just seconds of coming on the pitch he latched onto a Mark Janney cross to secure all three points for the Daggers. And left Stanley wondering what had happened???
