Whalley Is Angry!

The man in question was a Clarets season ticket holder so to describe him as an 'Accrington Stanley Hooligan' is certainly not true. Whalley had this to say:
"To make bill board headlines about Stanley hooligans is absolutely ridiculous. The story refers to a Burnley season ticket holder who was arrested following disturbances outside Turf Moor following the Clarets match against Preston North End. It appears that the story stems from a police comment, and we shall be taking issue with the local constabulary too. We have never had any trouble here at Accrington Stanley, last season there wasn't a single incident that required police intervention. We pride ourselves on being a family club with a friendly atmosphere, and our supporters are a credit to the club both home and away."

A few month since a simlar incident took place and Whalley hasn't forgot that.
"With both of these stories not once has the club been approached to comment, to be honest I am absolutely amazed that a local paper, that we thought would have supported us, has chosen to turn on us by plastering this story on their boards all over Accrington. The Sports desk are great to us and give us fantastic coverage all year round, but for some reason the news reporters seem to be determined to damage the good name of our club. Returning to full time status is one of the greatest moments in our history, and we need all the support from fans and sponsors we can get, the Telegraph don't seem to appreciate this and are happy to drag us through the mud to sell a few extra copies of their paper."
