John Coleman's side wouldn't mind meeting their Essex visitors every weekend if they could arrange the fixtures.
The Lancastrians collected maximum points off Canvey last season and are now one of nine sides in the Conference with three points after the opening day games.
Indeed, the final result was a carbon copy of last year's meeting at the Interlink Stadium.
The only difference came with the matchwinner, substitute David Brown. The former Manchester United trainee, who moved to Stanley from Hereford last March, got the all important goal just five minutes after coming on as a substitute.
And that's the way it stayed to the delight of manager Coleman whose most recent signings Leam Richardson and Andrew Mangan both showed up well.
Accrington next visit Conference newcomers Altrincham where they will hope to build on this solid start. Canvey, disappointed with their 18th place finish last season, have more hard work ahead of them before their next game at home to Aldershot.
The match was hardly a classic and real opportunities were at a minimum. Keeper Stuart Jones was almost embarrassed by a Canvey cross shot while Ian Craney went closest for the home side with a fizzing shot ten minutes before the break.
Lee Boylan looked most likely to for Canvey and only the legs of Jones prevented him equalizing from a free-kick.
The two were involved again early in the second half with Jones again coming out on top with a necessary save.
By this stage though Richardson, whose has done the rounds of Lancashire clubs during his stays at Blackburn, Bolton and Blackpool, had to clear away from near his own line.
Steve Jagielka wasted a great opportunity for Stanley after 53 minutes and was also careless with his finishing on the hour.
But Accrington also had a let off when old boy Stuart Bimson hit the post from distance.
Coleman's decision to take off Jagielka paid dividends when Brown scored. Bimson appeared to miscalculate a high ball, John Mullin played in Brown and the replacement converted only his second goal for the club.
Craney has a couple of useful efforts to make sure of victory, but Accrington held on comfortably much to the delight of the four figure crowd.
