Rain halts Lancashire derbyAccrington's home game against 10-man Morecambe was abandoned after 56 minutes with the score 0-0 after heavy rain made some areas of the pitch unplayable, according to referee James Adcock. The driving rain made for a scrappy derby clash with the deluge never stopping from kick-off.Aside from Adcock taking the players off, the main talking point of the match was Alex Kenyon's straight red card for a late challenge on Peter Murphy a minute before half-time.Morecambe forward Kevin Ellison hit the crossbar with a header from a Jamie Devitt cross while Jack Redshaw could only find the side netting with his follow-up.Stanley's best chance to fell to George Bowerman who scuffed an effort in front of goal from Murphy's ball into the box. There was little to choose between the sides but then, as the break approached, Shrimps midfielder Kenyon made a late challenge on Murphy and referee Adcock had no hesitation to show him a red card. The game restarted after half-time but the ball was holding up in surface water and the referee spoke to both benches before bringing proceedings to an early end
