Barnet always looked favorite to score first as they both attacked and defended well and when Simon King, simply outstanding all day, cut in from the left there was only one outsome and that was to put the home team one nil up.
After the goal Stanley started to get back into the game a little and Lee McEvilly had a good effort saved by the home keeper.
Ian Craney looked to have equalised minutes later but the goal was harshly ruled offside. The linesman had a 50/50 decision to make and unfortunatly for Stanley and Ian Craney he gave it against the former Altrincham midfielder and the goal was disallowed.
Soon after, on 58 minutes, John Coleman's men were two nil down. The goal was scored in the same fashion as the first as once again, the ball was played in from the left, this time by Richard Graham, and driven into the bottom corner of debutising Stanley 'keeper Paul Crichton.
Two minute's before the final whistle and the game was all but sealed for Barnet as the home fans celebrated a third goal. This time the ball was played in by a Bees player and Mike Flynn misjudged his jump to head the ball clear and the ball went flying behind him and over the fully streched Crichton to make it 3-0.
Overall it was a poor performance by Stanley but Paul Crichton would have liked to performed better on his debut.
