Accrington striker Paul Mullin scored his 14th goal of the season to put the Nationwide Conference part-timers in the draw for the FA Cup third round.

Top scorer Mullin headed Accrington in front after eight minutes to leave the 400 visiting fans dreaming of a third round trip to Manchester United.

But Bournemouth midfielder Marcus Browning ensured John Coleman's side will need a replay to progress to the third round for the first time in more than four decades.

Browning saved Bournemouth from defeat with his first goal of the season to cancel out Mullin's goal 11 minutes after half time.

Accrington needed a last-minute winner to see off Huddersfield in the first round.

It took less than ten minutes for Mullin to head the non-leaguers in front from Rory Prendergast's right-wing corner.

Bournemouth goalkeeper Neil Moss was only passed fit to play a matter of hours before kick-off after overcoming a stomach bug.

The former Southampton star badly misjudged Prendergast's inswinging corner allowing the unmarked Mullin to beat him with a near post header.

Browning had Bournemouth's best effort of a mediocre half with a fizzing 20-yard volley which James Speare pushed past the post.

Speare was helpless to prevent Browning drawing Bournemouth level with a thumping 20-yard shot to earn the second division promotion hopefuls a replay at Accrington Stanley's Interlink Express Stadium.

After the game Accrington boss John Coleman said: "Maybe we scored too early.

"It is very difficult to come to a place like this and put men behind the ball for 82 minutes.

"I cannot say we deserved to win but we fancy our chances in the replay." Bournemouth manager Sean O'Driscoll added: "Accrington worked hard and they got what they deserved.

"They made it very difficult for us and they are a well-organised side. No team in England would have fancied playing against a team who defended like they did."
