A foul in each half meant Farnborough Town and Accrington Stanley had to settle for a draw at Cherrywood Road.

In a fast-paced first half the sides looked fairly evenly matched. An early shot from Howard Forinton was easily saved by Accy keeper Jon Kennedy while at the other end Rory Prendergast's header was comfortably saved by Mark Osborn.

In an end-to-end match, Boro won a free-kick ten yards from the area, but Richard Hodgson's effort on goal was collected by the in-form Kennedy.

Prendergast's cross at the other end was headed towards goal by Andrew Proctor but was saved by Osborn.

Then came a great chance for Boro after some neat build-up play resulted in a shot from Dennis Oli but the QPR loanee's effort was just wide.

Meanwhile Andy Gouck went close for the visitors, forcing Osborn into a good save after a Prendergast corner.

Some neat football then saw Fiston Manuella put his shot well over the bar before Prendergast shot straight at the keeper at the opposite end.

Boro then won their first corner. Hodgson's effort was headed towards goal by Howard Forinton, but was parried by the keeper for a second corner which was cleared.

The goal was not long in coming as Manuella's cross in from the right was tapped in by Paul Harkness just before half-time.

Just four minutes into the second half, the visitors equalised thanks to substitute Lee McEvilly.

Osborn was forced into making saves from Paul Mullin and Lutel James while Kennedy was also kept busy keeping out Forinton.

Despite continued pressure, the visitors could not find the winner while Boro, desperately in need of the three points, had to settle for a share of the spoils.
