Midfielder Gary Roberts lashed in a stoppage time free kick to secure a point for Conference leaders Accrington Stanley from an exciting incident packed Boxing Day contest.
Gary Roberts leveled the scores at 2-2 with a curling effort driving into the bottom left corner of the net after veteran defender Peter Atherton fouled Accrington Stanley's Paul Mullin on the edge of the box.
The result means Accrington Stanley's sixth game winning streak is over - but they could have had another victory following Romauld Boco's blistering opener for the visitors on 27 minutes.
Striker Boco expertly controlled Ian Craney's pass on the edge of the box and lashed a low drive underneath the Halifax keeper Adam Legzdins.
Town, who were denied an early lead when Accrington Stanley stopper Rob Elliot beat away Danny Forrest's close-range effort, were on terms in first half stoppage time through a stunning Lewis Killeen diving header from ex-Stanley winger Rory Prendergast's cross.
And The Shaymen went ahead through John Grant's first touch after coming on as a 2nd half substitute on 67 minutes.
Peter Atherton's long ball was flicked into Grant's path by Adam Quinn and the striker, who has missed the last three games with a viral infection, got the nearest of touches on the ball to divert it pass Elliott.
Halifax who still have the only unbeaten home record in the conference with sevens wins and two draws from nine matches, could have secured victory through a Prendergast drive five minutes later but Elliott parried well.
The visitors were lucky not to have Michael Welch sent off for pulling down Grant in the second half when the defender was the last man. Welsh had been booked on 63 minutes for a foul on Forrest and was fortunate not to pick up a second yellow for pulling Grant to the floor.
