After relegation at the end of the 2003/2004 season York found themselves in the Nationwide Conference and that meant that Accrington Stanley would be traveling to Bootham Crescent for a league game- so here is the ACCYSTAN guide to making the most of your trip.
Food and Drink
Before the match you will probably want to check out the local pubs and maybe get a bite to eat too and your best off getting your pre-match meal before you get into the ground as the prices for fod in Bootham Crescent are not the cheapest to say the least. Tony's Plaice on Newborough Street is a brilliant local chip shop which is not too far from the ground but if you prefer to eat from a name that you know and trust there are plenty of national fast food resteraunts based in York- McDonalds, Burger King and Pizza Hut being the most popular of them.
If you enjoy your drink or just want to meet up with a few of the home fans before the match then the Burton Stone pub is highly recommended by many York City fans and is very welcoming to fans of all clubs and regulars often share football stories with fans of the opposition before the games. Anoth visiting fans-friendly pub is the Corner House which is a little further away from the ground than the Burton Stone and is not as crouded on matchdays and is recommended for thosewho enjoy a quiet drink with little fuss.
Tickets
Tickets in the away terracing- The Grosvenor road Terracing- cost £13.00 for fans aged sixteen or over while those under the age of sixteen or over 65 are charged just £8.00
Disabled fans from the visitors are welcome in the home disabled enclosure for free but a helper is charged at £13.50 and it is recommended that you contact the club before setting off on your journey if you plan to do this.
The whole stadium holds a total of just under nine and a half thousand (9,459) of which 3,249 is seated. The away terrecing accomodates 2,960 supporters.
