Lutel James and Mullin went through the bulk of last season without any attacking cover and now the competition for a starting place is growing stronger and stronger.

Paul reckons that him and Lutel have done well in hitting 15 goals between them already this term and vowed not to let his chances of starting regulary for Stanley slip without a fight.

"Football is a horrible game.  me and Lutel have been here a couple of seasons now and done quite well, but it dosen't matter what you've done in the past, you can soon be yeaterday's news," the striker explained.

Mullin hit his 6th goal of the current campaign against bottom of the league Farnbourgh Town in Accrington's 3-1 victory on Saturday, with fellow striker Lutel James also getting on the scoresheet.

"Theres not a lot that me or Lutel or any of the other lads can do about the players coming in because John wants competition, and that can only be good the the team."
