MORCAMBE 0-1 STANLEY

The two games went into the game knowing that the winner would go on to be hot favorites to win the competition overall.  Last season's final saw the Shrimps take the trophy home as they come out winners 3-1 on aggregate after the final was played over two legs- one at the Interlink Express and one at Morcambe's Christie Park.

Stanley were desperate to get revenge over their Lancashire rivals this year and when the two teams were drawn together in the quarter final of the competition the chance came for John Colerman's men.

Danny Alcock continued in goal for Stanley while youngster Ryan Robinson was given a rare 90 minutes and both teams rested a few first team regulars as both teams attempt to have an assult on the Conference play-offs.

It was a very close match but in the 75th minute Stanley striker Lee McEvilly scored what would turn out to be the winner for Accrington and the goal that secured Stanley a place in the semi-finals.
