How did we manage to lose? Prendergast hitting the crossbar really summed up Stanley's day after a 2-1 defeat at the hand of relegated Exeter City.
Eamon Dolan's team started well and really set the tone for a miserable first half, with the reds going in at half-time a goal down due to a dodgy desicion from the ref giving City a goal when, in my view, the ball was never even level with the goal-line, and definatly did it not cross it.
Shortly after the break the visitors hit, well headed actually, another. 2-0 down and you didn't really fancie Accrington's chances, especially with Lutel not being in the game with only 3 or 4 touches in the whole second half. But Paul Mullin pulled 1 back and then ACcrington really put the pressure on but it just wasn't to be.
Towards the end Stanley fans did get a bit more exitment, but this time off the pitch, with a fight between a few croud members ending in 8 security guards dragging the man that started it all down the pitch after he was push over the wall by fans in support of the victim who was obviosly in shock.
And there was it, the final whistle, and Exeter didn't deserve 3 points, and I think they'd be lucky if they only got 1 but 3 is was a miricle aftewr watching the last 49 minutes, but footballs a cruel game and so, with Justin Jackson making his debut, coming on as a sub for Andy Gouck but obviosly not fully match-fit Accrington lost.
Until next time,
